The eventual flight was uneventual, but we got into Atlanta a little
late. We had a good run to reach our next plane, and we actually got
to the gate in time. But weren't able to pick up our tickets in time,
and they had already filled the plane.
As the lady kindly booked our consolation flight for tomorrow morning,
Wil asked if there's any compensation for our troubles. She hummed
and hawed a bit, and rightfully stated our previous delay was a
different airlines fault. But her supervisor, looking over her
shoulder, must have taken pity, as she gave us free vouchers to
anywhere in the US (ha). We're already planning our next trip to
hawaii in a couple months (or Alaska).
Wil, then took his leave (again) to wander aimlessly for a while, and
i thought i'd go try my luck with getting "compensation" with our
previous airline. she said "no", if its a weather delay there's no
compensation, but she gave us 4 free meal vouchers and a hotel pass
(where we are now). So not a bad deal.
Wil is really enjoying his freedom, and he excaims it regularly.
Running up and down staircases, handstands, regular verbal expression,
and once, when we were taking this airport's subway to the shuttle
gate, at a stop before, right out of the blue, he says "Dave, i'm
getting off", ducks out , doors close and he's gone.
So we went to "the waffle house" to use up our dinner vouchers.
Wil struck up conversation, once again,
with one of the locals (see pic).
Not a bad place, but i think it was just as warm in ottawa. we'd
better keep heading south.
