Big basement bathroom build

March 26, 2007 - 6672 Roger Stevens rd.

Well V has a plan to slowly turn half the basement into an apartment. I don't know whose going to live down there, but for now, it'll be awefully handy having a bathroom down there...

The 'before' shot of the proposed bathroom corner (and the sink to be, from lolly)

the framing goes up pretty quick, once you figure out the layout this nook is the perfect fit for a bathroom

hmm...what to do with this weird stubby corner wall...knock it out

there we go now, the room is a few inches bigger

we picked an off white, or beige tile that looks more like grey in there (but i like it)   ...and thats the raised tub frame (for the sloping drainage pipe)

Using this bad boy means we don't have to knock a hole in the concrete floor for a 'standard' pump and drainage system. This little pump can handle draining the sink and tub too, and pump it up some 12'. The plan is to get an extender pipe so that the pump box will be on the opposite side of the wall to the toilet. It will be placed against the wall section with the green insulation, seen above.
