UK trip part 5

May 22, 2007 - Glasgow/Edinburgh/London

I guess Glasgow wasn't very memorable as i don't seem to have any photos of it, however there's more of Edinburgh.

The Scott Monument

Built in the early 1840's for the late Sir Walter Scott, who had died in 1832. Made out of sandstone that some how turned all black and evil looking over time, its 200.5' tall, with 287 narrow steps, and a mere 6$ for the exercise

monumental Edinburgh views, in four directions

So after a pile of walking around the city for the latter half of the day, with little further mischief, we returned the rental spaceship and jumped a plane back to London. London pics coming up next, then Dover and Calais France..

Update: London, over the next few days.....

The Rosetta Stone

The remaining framment of a larger stone created in Egypt in 196BC. Discovered in 1799, by the French, and ended up here in London, in 1802 after lots of fighting.

Tower of London

Once a fortress/royal prison, now, a rather expensive museum, with no dungeon access. Perhaps more notably famous for being the beheading location of Anne Boleyn (1536), and home of the crown jewels (since 1303).
