UK trip part 2

May 20, 2007 - Edinburgh/Stonehaven

After hanging around Edinburgh for most of the day, it was just about time to head up the coast. I couldn't seem to find any success, trying to poach wireless internet signals, to get updates on the all importants Stanly Cup playoffs. We went into an indian magazine shop, and while the proprietor got mad at V for opening up a map of Scotland, i scoured the local paper for some scores. There seemed to be only 15 pages of soccer, some rugby, cricket and a bit of golf. My dissapointment was interupted by the shop keeper mumbling some inquiry as to what i was doing. I said i was looking up the hockey scores, of course. As he took the paper from me and replaced it on the shelf, he bellowed something that sounded like 'NO HOCKEY HERE.' No kidding, it was time to go..

destination north

followed a trail north... (2.5mb cliff view) ...(7.2mb trail walk)

and found this war memorial on a hill (9.3mb vid)

We were too late for a castle tour on this day (much more later tho), so we headed down to Stonehaven to find a 'B and B' for the night. Still no internet, still no hockey, on any of the 6 tv channels available. 36 hours was a long time to stay awake, must be nice to be able to nap on planes like V.
..with a picnic perfect view of Stonehaven

Stonehaven bed and breakfast (vid 3.1mb)

our hostess eyed me suspiciously, as i snapped this shot
